The internet is one area our children need protection. But what about Hollywood and other media sources tearing down your Christian values? Our children (and adults too) need protection. Here are some practical steps you can take in conjunction with monitoring the internet to significantly equip you to take back the value structure of your family. |
Before allowing your children to view any movie (in Theaters or on video!) read about the movie from a trusted source. Do not take the advice of well meaning friends. They most likely will not have the same value structure as you! Here are sites Ellen and I use (they are free!): Christian Spotlight, PluggedIn Online (from Focus On The Family) and Dove Foundation. |
Interested in providing your children a “safe” social network that is monitored and free of vulgar and obscene material? Ditty Talk promotes itself as just such a site. |
Tired of paying too much for cable and not being able to watch half the programs? Tired of being horrified your children will see explicit material by switching channels?
Finally someone got it! Dish Network now offers DishFAMILY which is less than half the price of cable as well as less than half the worries! If you add local channels it is $5 more (though you will have to monitor those local channels a bit more!) Click below and ask for the DishFAMILY offer. (Stick to your guns - only get the DishFamily package - no extras except local channels if you need them!) |

Dove Foundation has an interesting article entitled “Who Says Movies Don’t Influence Behavior?” You can read it here: Influence |

From a DC dad who sells computer software: “I appreciated Mark’s practical and informative approach in his Cyber Safety seminar, it was not just scare tactics about use of the internet. It was a good balance of the positives with the need for parents to be diligent and aware of where their kids are going online. I was unaware of all that is going on in the teen world with the internet.” |
